from the beginning of bristol archive records involvement in documenting bristols neglected reggae heritage we have wanted to release an album that showcases the great talent of one of the local reggae scenes mainstays, joshua moses.
unfortunately, joshua has no copies of the many recording sessions he has done in the years since his first session in 1978, and so it has taken more than eighteen months of painstaking research and the pursuit of numerous leads to gather together the fifteen tracks on >joshua to jashwha - 30 years in the wilderness<. the result is more than worth any effort involved on our part and is as strong a debut album as anyone could wish for, guaranteed to create a buzz among reggae fans worldwide.

somewhere over western europe, an un-identified falling object crashed landed causing a massive bang, and a ginormous banana shaped smoke cloud. frederic, a local artistic young chap was so inspired by this hilariously funny giant cloud that covered the whole sky as far as he could see, he ran indoors to take cover, and wrote a little summer step d&b beat, called >laughing at clouds< – which seemed to draw a lot of attention. out of the studio window, frederic could see what seemed to be a pink giraffe giving it some serious head-nodding action. by the second drop leonard (the pink giraffe) was dancing so heavily that he caused a small tremor somewhere over in the states, where young up & coming producer melo seemed to pick up the transmission. while in his sonic laboratory he managed to transfer his latest project (affirmation) through the current, where frederic decided to make his first remix project, which pretty much made leonard pass out after all the summer stepping….

the zenker brothers grew up in munich, but in 1996 they moved to the countryside and their first adress outside of the bavarian capital was berg 10. shortly after that they got their first dog inti, he smelled like hell, but he was the loveliest dog you can imagine. although it was an intense change and not that easy at the beginning to move from a big city to a village with 5 houses, it was a really important experience for the brothers. and there was so much to discover: the beautiful mountains, lakes and forests, the local football team, the heavy bavarian accent and simply the different mentality on the countryside. all things they would never want to miss, but it was just a question of time to go back to the city. we are proud to present the first record from dario & marco. enjoy!

spring 2006 was both cruel and exciting. radiating hot helsinki nights, too much light and vivid, restless dreams about music. while chucking down a glass of cheap brandy in a local bar the idea finally materialized: lets start a record label! a label that would bring people together. proud people. people thinking of music. people doing their own thing in their own way in their own basements. and most importantly, people who understood the meaning of space between notes. after 5 years, 16 records, 85 tracks and 44 artists from 13 countries it goes without saying that those restless dreams became reality. and so did the music.

the unique partnership is the brainchild of local dance music aficionado dj vidis. he teamed up with top lithuanian producer mario basanov in 2007 to form the most influential local production combo and to deliver what could be the freshest sounding and truly adventurous house music in lithuania and around. vidis and marios first vocal track and video >i ll be gone< featuring young but much promising lithuanian singer and songwriter jazzu became national phenomena on its own right. hitting number one in radio charts, not leaving mtv baltic top 20 for half a year, and becoming the most blogged and youtubed lithuanian music video ever says it all. and the single featuring british songstress kathy diamond as well as vaguely provoking black and white video cemented their reputation as local institution and the purveyors of top quality deep sounds. with duos debut album released december 2010 on their own silence music to big commercial success as well as a few singles being lined-up for early 2011 on top notch international labels like japanese endless flight, australian future classic, german best works, and british crosstwonrebels also remix work commissioned from soul clap, john talabot, andre lodemann, marcus worgull, and softwar the future looks bright and bold.

the newest tigersushi 12 inch is also the newest addition to the labels infamous roster, yes wizard. like many of the labels new artists yes wizard has an ambiguous almost mythical place, not just on the roster, but also the world at large. during a recent r&r mission in the south east coast town of ubatuba, brazil, joakim found himself privy to a local urban legend, of a jungle man, a music composer going by the name of yes wizard.

hypnotizing acid-ebm-electro-wave masterpiece from düsseldorf. tolouse low trax is detlef weinrich, one of the members of german band kreidler, dj and co-owner of the düsseldorf based club/bar salon des amateurs. tolouse low trax remixes noblesse obliges already fantastic >the great electrifier< into a mesmerizing and highly original blend of electronic dub and new-wave-like techno. the other three tracks are solely by the hand of tolouse low trax. his unique signature is all over it: teutonic marching beats with layers of spaced-out, dubby electronics. the perfect soundtrack for a german party in an african cocktailbar during a full eclipse in the middle of a coup d etat. fear and loathing in düsseldorf. highly original and an absolute must-have.

barn 003 is a split single featuring two tracks ? one a cut-up disco monster by our good friend from gothenburg, andreas jonsson (or acid andy as his mother calls him) ? the other a psycho killa trancehall jam from sweet old boman himself. both tracks have been tried, tested, rinsed out and wheeled up by us barnhus boys for a few good months now ? feel free to give them a chance at your own local discothèque this weekend!

san francisco-based producer antiserum steps up for dub police with two unique collaborations, featuring local producers ill-esha and 12th planet respectively. his music is a masterfully crafted fusion of influences that results in a sound entirely his own, balancing light against dark and colour against pure bass pressure. showcasing a deft musicality as well as an unrivalled talent for system shaking productions, antiserum is taking the scene by storm. releases on narco.hz, s.c.u.m and argon amongst others have already propelled him to the forefront of the rapidly growing american dubstep scene, with plenty more still to come. on the a side, he is joined by ill-esha on >zephyr<, a sick g-funk inflected roller. skittering hi-hats and tough drums lay the foundations on this one, with the deep, smooth bass sweeping underneath. the vibrant synths weave in and out of each other with ease, swimming around the mix and swelling expansively through the speakers. on the flip he teams up with 12th planet on the massive >purple & gold<. the g-funk influences continue to flow through this track, pinned down by a hard bassline and taut drums. the shimmering synths sliding over the top of the percussion and off into the atmosphere give the track an epic stop-in-your-tracks effect.

his version of the dirty genre is brought to life with melodies that seem to flow out of a local pub in drexciya?s bubble metropolis. with the final track, ceephax drops us back into the future with ?russia? a krafwerkian dancef loor killer. what a way to go? drop everything else for one of the strongest ceephax releases to date!
